I am currently recruiting for a specialist historic buildings conservation business, based near Wincanton in Somerset, who are renowned for excellence within their field.
The opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Finance Manager / Management Accountant to join their team to provide timely, clear and accurate information on the performance of their current projects and to strengthen financial control to support anticipated growth. This role will ideally be full time, but 4 days will also be very much considered.
This is a very important role in keeping the commercial side of the business up to date with relevant financial information. As well as this you will play an integral part in ensuring that the cash flow of the business is controlled and all invoicing and credit control is kept on top of at all times. Putting controls in place where necessary to achieve this.
The main duties for this role will include:
- Preparing short and long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Monitoring profit on individual jobs and reconciling to pricing schedules.
- Preparing pipeline forecasts of future expected income.
- Advising management on financial aspects of key business decisions.
- Streamlining systems, and creation of systems notes for the company.
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments and the development of KPIs in participation with the management team.
- Preparing the year end accounts pack for the accountants.
- Managing trade debtors – Ensuring valuations progress to invoice, raising invoices if required, and debtor collections, including retentions.
- Managing trade creditors - Reconciling supplier statements and arranging payments.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register.
- Processing payments from the bank.
- Supporting the Managing Director with contract administration.
- Ad hoc analysis as required.
This is an exciting role with lots of scope to develop and further evolve the accounts function. As well as looking after the account function, you will also be heavily involved with the senior management team, providing input from a financial perspective. As such you will need to be comfortable “getting stuck in” and working with colleague on projects/duties outside your original job role.
