This family owned Somerset based manufacturing company are recruiting a finance manager to join them as the company enters the next planned phase of its growth.

This established  business are looking for an individual who will play a key support role, delivering robust day to day management of the finance function as they create further ongoing success, through a review and streamlining of business processes.

You will work closely with the directors and management team and as well as take responsibility for the monthly management accounts and year end accounts preparation.

This role offers real variety with scope for involvement in a number of accounting projects including cost accounting ,stock management and continued  process improvements.

This is a hands on position with management of a small but experienced team plus some wider HR responsibilities including new starter documentation, confidentiality of personnel files, directors pension management and more .

To be happy in this role flexibility is key and you will need to be comfortable and at ease shifting your current focus working with occasionally changing business priorities.

Due to the integral nature of this role and its importance to this next phase of business growth for the company this is an office based position. It would ideally suit someone for whom Midsomer Norton/Radstock is an easy commute, is excited to join a forward thinking management team and who is confident and keen to build effective and strong working relationships across the company.

For clarity when applying for this role key initial responsibilities include:

  • Day to day management of finance team including Purchase Ledger, sales ledger and credit control and payroll
  • Daily Bank Reconciliation
  • Monthly Management Accounts Preparation
  • Cash Flow Management including supplier payments, PAYE, CIS & VAT
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Quarterly VAT Return
  • Year-End Preparation for external audit & accountancy
  • Stock management ensuring accuracy of reported values
  • During a period of internal maternity leave,monthly payroll preparation for outsourcing ,accounts Receivable Invoices, assist with ad hoc HR and recruitment tasks
  • Maintaining the company fixed asset register and HP agreements
  • Main contact for insurance renewals and claims
  • Support the company Directors and undertake any other tasks to ensure the smooth running of the company
