My client, a well respected and growing business based in Clevedon, is looking for a Stock Controller / Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. This role will report directly to the Purchasing Supervisor and will be responsible for their own portfolio of internal and external suppliers.
Key Duties include:
- Responsible for the management of correct stock levels for three departments, reviewing both low and high stock levels.
- Investigating and resolving aged stocks
- Accurate forecasting, ensuring stock files reflect reorder levels based on capacity and supplier lead times
- Analysing demand, production requirements and scheduled deliveries
- Raise Purchase orders
- Run low stock reports to avoid backordering
- Run demand exception reports reviewing forecasts
- Work closely with forwarding Agents for Global delivery / collections of products by air, train and sea
- Back order reporting, reason and action plan
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and invoice queries, both day to day and during stock take
- During stock takes analyse stock discrepancies and to sign off on adjustments
- Manage returns to suppliers
- React effectively to sales fluctuations and supply problems in order to minimise out of stock lines
The ideal candidate for this role with have worked in a similar role previously and be used to a fast paced busy environment. You will have a keen eye for detail and have an analytical mind so as to spot trends and spikes in demand and foresee any potential supply chain issues.
In return my client is offering a salary of £20,000 - £24,000 depending on experience as well as a secure working environment as the company is going through a sustained period of growth.
