Stores & Logistics Team Leader

If you are experienced within Stores/Warehousing & Logistics and looking for a Somerset based opportunity managing a small team, you will enjoy working for our client based in Bridgwater who are a bespoke engineering company with a global customer base and focussed on business growth and success.

You will be someone who brings a positive attitude to your work and whose people management skills include supporting, training and mentoring your team alongside working to the highest standards of Health & Safety.

As part of the ongoing internal drive for a highly effective stores operation you will be comfortable reviewing processes and procedures, helping to implement efficiencies and change, working closely with your direct manager the Head of Purchasing and Logistics.

Although the business manufacture highly complex bespoke engineered machinery on site your purpose leading the stores team is ultimately straight forward  "to ensure that the right part gets to the right place/person at the right time and in the right way".  

This is something you should take pride in achieving as it is a crucial part of what makes the business successful and creates high levels of customer satisfaction ensuring future orders for the business.

Key to achieving this will be your relationship building skills as you will be communicating across all departments in the business and maintaining the high level of respect that the stores team has internally.

As well as the above key day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of the export procedures and logistics including packaging, documentation and transport for the global export of machines.
  • Achieving consistently high levels of stock accuracy across all warehouses and locations.
  • Assisting with any goods in/out, stock take, works orders, with focus on the supply of parts to production and subcontractors and further operations as necessary.
  • Working to ISO procedures make sure all stores and logistics procedures are correctly documented and followed.
  • Resolving any stock quality or delivery issues in a timely fashion to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Keep track of all company assets and customer property held on site for factory approval testing.
  • Maintain up to date calibration logs for all equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Reporting and delivery on KPI's regarding stock accuracy through use of Excel and Sage MRP.

Previous or current experience within engineering stores could be an advantage in this role plus there is a requirement in this role for the individual to hold a current Fork Lift license.
